Larcen
Consulting Group was prominently featured in the cover story
of the November issue of Venture Capital Journal magazine, written
by VCJ Senior Editor Constance Loizos. Called “Can This Relationship
Be Saved?”,
the article explores situations in which bringing in outside
help might be the answer to personality conflicts and disagreements that
threaten
VC partnerships.
Loizos interviewed one Larcen client who said he brought Larcen in because "In
our case, we initially realized that we needed to implement structure within
[our firm], but we weren't sure how to create it, and we wanted to pull the fire
alarm when we smelled a few matches burning, not after the house burned down."
He goes on to say, "Dell makes sure there are no hidden feelings, no hidden
agendas, no silent resentment that is affecting the decisions we make."
Author Loizos tells Larcen Vision, “It's great that a growing
number of firms are reaching out to fine-tune their interpersonal dynamics – and
speaking more openly about the practice. The fact is, VC firms are staffed by
very opinionated, very competitive people; there is going to be conflict. Those
who acknowledge it are ahead of the game, not behind it.”
