As both the HR client and a participant in the Executive Development program, I was exposed to Larcen from a few perspectives. Organizational development, team building, leadership development, management training, high performance work teams - each conjures up an image for us based upon our individual experiences. Over the past several years I have played a role in these kinds of activities with Larcen Consulting as our support. In the first case, we focused on team building and leadership development in a division that historically lost money. Through the efforts of our team, we produced black line results of significant proportions consecutively for two years. Half way through the third year of profits the team was disbanded. The business began losing money and has since been sold. When asked to lead our manufacturing team three years ago, part of my charter was to develop leadership for the future. With the support of Larcen , we embarked upon the most substantial leadership development program ever undertaken at Scientific-Atlanta. The results have been interesting. Some people who I believed would never "get it" are doing quite well, others have decided to de-select themselves and move on, still others are trying to get in step with varying degrees of success. Results are a strong, more proactive, cost-reducing "get it done" organization vs. a weak, reactive, "woe is me" ineffective organization.
